Born in Fillmore, Ind., on April 14, 1916, she was the daughter of Lowell and Nova (Arnold) Dicks.
On May 29, 1953, she married Don E. Wells.
Bertha was a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church. She worked as an Inspector for Eli Lilly and also in the school cafeteria.
Survivors include: three daughters, Sharon Kay Rupp of Greensburg, IN, Cheryl Cleveland of Palm Springs, CA and Stephanie Anderson of San Diego, CA; one son, Donald Hamilton of San Diego, CA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Neuhausal of Sandborn, IN.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don E. Wells (May 6, 1995), son-in-law, George Rupp, two sisters and two brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Baptist Church and Hospice, with envelopes available at the church.
Friends may call at the Sandborn Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2009 until the hour of service. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday.
Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Sandborn.
The Wells family has entrusted these arrangements with the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.
