Emma Royelle Wood, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away at 3:26 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at her residence.
Born July 5, 1930 in Shoals, she was the daughter of Roy Ashcraft and Anna E. (Pribble) Wright.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Christian church in Bloomfield and was an avid card player.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Karen Kay Baker of Shelbyville, Tenn.; son-in-law, Greg Baker of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; granddaughter, Nicole Wood of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; grandson, Justin Baker of Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two great, grandchildren, Alexa Evans and Nicolis Evans; four brothers, Robert Ashcraft of Indianapolis, Kenneth Ashcraft of Kokomo, James Ashcraft of Wiggins, Mississippi, and Roy "Bud" Ashcraft Jr. of Bloomfield; four sisters, Beulah Howell of Loogootee, Marjorie Ball of Linton, Joanne Padgett and Elaine Hord, both of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. Wood on March 30, 1990; her parents; two brothers, Raymond Ashcraft and Ralph Ashcraft; and one sister, Wilma Walton.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 18 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Arlen Pope and Rev. Henry Mann Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one-hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
