Elmer Ray Floyd, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born February 20, 1924 in Greene County, he was the son of Harrison and Ruby (Foster) Floyd.
He retired as a Foreman for REMC and was a member of the Bloomfield Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Wilma Rosemary (Clark) Floyd whom he married August 23, 1943; one son, Roger Floyd of Ellettsville; two daughters, DeAnn Norris of Bloomfield and Donna Dishman of Indianapolis; one brother, Tom Floyd of Bloomfield; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Ray Floyd; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the Bloomfield Church of Christ. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one-hour prior to services all at the church. Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
