Born Aug. 3, 1925 in Falmouth, Ky., she was the daughter of Owen Robert and Elsie May (Smith) Holaway. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was a homemaker. Alma was a lovingly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include: seven sons, Jerry Lee Gilreath of Bloomfield, Dickie Norris Gilreath of Mooresville, Donald Gilreath of Linton, Larry Wayne Gilreath of Bloomington, Steve Allen Gilreath of Indianapolis, David Patrick Gilreath of Chambersburg, Pa., and Robert Gilreath of Jasonville; four daughters, Janet Martin-Lytle of Shippensburg, Pa., Sandra Jean Turpin of Linton, Peggy Ann Lopez of Linton, and Wendy Gail Rines of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Robert Holaway of Bloomfield; one sister, Helen Bullard of Versailles; 36 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gilreath on April 27, 1977; her parents, Owen Robert and Elsie May (Smith) Holaway; two brothers, Kenneth Holaway and Jimmy Holaway; and one sister, Dorothy Sellers.
Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home.
