Joseph H. Haseman M.D., 44, of Evansville, passed away Thursday in Evansville from complications of a long battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Dr. Haseman was a gastroenterologist with Gastroenterology Associates in Evansville. He grew up in Washington and attended Washington High School. Dr. Haseman received his M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed training after medical school in internal medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology at the Indiana University Medical Center. He has practiced medicine in Evansville since 1996. One of his great joys in life was the privilege of participating in the care of his patients.

The true gifts that Joe left behind were his faith, generosity and kindness. The love he showed each and every person in his life should be a guide to all that were privileged enough to know him. The disease that finally took him had also given him his strength of heart, devotion to family and unwavering faith. Joe would want to know that in his life and death he has strengthened our faith as well.

Dr. Haseman is survived by his three beloved children, Will, Catherine and Jack; his loving friend, Kelly Yune; parents, Joe and Sandy Haseman; brother, Mark and wife Sharon; brother, Craig and wife Lisa; father-in-law, OJ Sitzes, brother-in-law, Steve Sitzes and sister-in-law, Julianne Sitzes, all of Abilene, Texas and his ex-wife, Jeannie Haseman.
