He was born June 16, 1945 in Tucson, AZ., the son of Louis and Beatrice Ochoa.
He was of the Christian faith. Louis enlisted in the United States Army in 1961. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving his country, he received many service medals and honors and retired in October 1984. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with winds as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:30)
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Sparks) Ochoa of San Antonio and originally from Bloomfield Nancy, the daughter of Gaylord and Mary Merritt Sparks; sons, Michael Sims of San Antonio; Chris Ochoa of Birmingham, AL; and Keith Ochoa of Virginia. He was a loving grandfather of nine grandchildren, Alexandra Rodriguez, Lauren Sims, Kristen Sims, Rebekah Ochoa, Jordan Ochoa, Gabriella Ochoa, Andrew Ochoa, Zachary Ochoa, and Nicholas Ochoa. Brother Roland Ochoa, Phoenix AZ and sister Olivia Hernandez, California. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Bill, Jim, and John Sparks; sisters-in-law, Marge, Mary Jane and Cathi. Louis leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many many good friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robbie Sims, in 1982.
Visitation will be held Mon., June 15, from 5-9 p.m. at FuneralCaring USA in San Antonio, TX.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 16, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
