Mark Elwood Parkes, 58, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born June 19, 1950 in Bloomfield, he was the son of Stanley E. and Marjorie A. (Alexander) Parkes.
He was retired from NSWC Crane as a boiler inspector and was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Teresa (Ellis) Parkes; a son, Derek Parkes; and a daughter, Erynn Parkes all of Bloomfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, David S. Parkes on March 14, 1985.
Funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bloomfield First Christian Church with Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and Rev. David Wilde officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield and one-hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the American Stroke Association.
