Donald Ray Cruse, 75, of Worthington, passed away at 2 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing in Jasonville.
Born Sept. 23, 1933 in Switz City, he was the son of Ray and Delilah (Brannon) Cruse.
He married Anna Mae (Ellis) Cruse on June 8, 1951. She preceded him in death on March 12, 2009.
He formerly worked for GH Allen Construction Company. Don was a member of the Lincoln Christian for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing basketball when he was in school. He enjoyed gardening, was a woodworker, liked bird watching and just enjoyed nature. Don was just handy and hands on whether it was mechanicing a car or playing a guitar. Don took a correspondence course for basic electrical wiring.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Greg Davis of Bloomfield; sons and daughters-in-laws Chris Cruse and companion Gini King of Sullivan and Greg and Julia Cruse of Jasonville; grandchildren, Chad Davis and Sara; Evan and Noah Cruse; great-grandchildren, Brycelynn Davis and Lane Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Anna Mae Cruse; and one grandson, Bryce Davis.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at Lincoln Christian Church.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Christian Church with Pastor Clifford Gano officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in rural Linton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lincoln Christian Church in memory of Don, or to a charity of your choice.
