He was born on Nov. 7, 1920, in Scotland, IN. to John R. and Freida (Stone) Richardson.
On March 29, 1938, Ermil married Ruth Arthur and they had two children.
Ermil served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the European Threatre Ribbon with five bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Combat Infantryman's Badge. He was a foreman at Triple T Construction Co. and a superintendent at LE Myers Construction, retiring in 1962. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and American Legion Post #22.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Richardson of Linton; one son, Larry E. (Kathy) Richardson of Linton; one daughter, Linda S. (Keith) Kester of Terre Haute; one brother, Kenneth Richardson of Bloomington; three sisters, Esther Cecil of Bloomfield, Eleanor Justus of Argos and Imogene Terrell of Bloomfield; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Ermil was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Richardson and one stillborn infant sister, Martha Alice Richardson.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday, July 2.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Dean Hartman officiating. Interment will take place at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN, with military graveside rites given by American Legion Post #22.
The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to Franklin Glenburn Home or the Fellowship Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
