Helton family

appreciates support

To the Editor:

The family of K.J. Helton wishes to express gratitude to everyone that has given support, prayers, money, cards, kind words, gifts, labor and love in a difficult time that we and K.J. have and are going through.

There are no words that can begin to express the support that we all have felt from Linton and surrounding areas. As we all know, K.J. is a fighter and if anyone can come back strong or stronger it is him.

We are now in Chicago at Shriner's Hospital and you may send mail to him at Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Room 1500 B, Chicago, Ill., 60707.

To anyone who thinks caring and kindness no longer exist the people of Greene County and surrounding areas have well put that to rest. Thank you all!

With love, the family of K.J.

Solsberry man says thanks for mowing

To the Editor:

I want to publicly commend the Greene County Highway Department and, specifically Morris Crowe, for the outstanding mowing job done along the road from Solsberry to Greene County Chapel. This is an extremely busy stretch of road. The clear right-of-way not only makes it look better, but, most importantly, it is much safer because of the increased visibility around the numerous curves.

Thank you Morris for patiently dealing with the traffic while making a tremendous improvement along this particular roadway. It is appreciated by everyone who travels it.

John and I, along with our children, Mark, Brent, Dawn and Jarod want to thank all our friends and family for the cards, gifts, phone calls and for joining us to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

A special thank you to Betty Wininger for making the cakes, to Kyla Quick for taking pictures, to Jean Peacock and Rebecca Harris for decorating and for helping Dawn.
