JAIL LOG

* Aug. 5 -- Stephen T. Clements, 22, Washington, was arrested on a warrant and was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Special Deputy Lee Condol was the arresting officer.

* Aug. 5 -- Leslie R. Gibson, Worthington, was arrested on a writ of attachment, released after posting $500 and scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17. Greene County Sheriff's Special Deputy Karen Oliphant was the arresting officer.

* Aug. 5 -- Lisa M. Slater, 44, Farmersburg, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia and was being held without bond. Indiana Conservation Officer Michael Gregg was the arresting officer.

* Aug. 6 -- William C. Padgett, 25, Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was being held in lieu of $8,000 bond. Linton Police Cpl. Paul Clark was the arresting officer.

* Aug. 6 -- Paul G. Roby, 42, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a school and a parole violation and was being held without bond. Indiana State Police Trooper Byron Goodman was the arresting officer.

ACTIVITY LOG

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included two incidents of trespassing, one title check, two assists to the utility department after hours, one custody dispute/exchange, one accident with property damage, one lost and found, four medical/illness, one alarm, one animal complaint, one assist to another agency, one harassment complaint, one theft-other, three welfare checks/concerns, one assist to the utility department and three traffic stops.

* Aug. 4 -- A resident on NW 2nd St. reported a 20-inch burnt orange BMX-style Next boys bike was taken from an open garage sometime after 11 p.m. on Aug. 3. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* Aug. 4 -- A resident on NW C St. reported a green Mongoose BMX-style boys bike with front and back pegs and a chain with a lock wrapped around the frame was taken sometime after 10 p.m. on Aug. 3. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* Aug. 4 -- A resident reported a hit-and-run accident which occurred around 2:30 p.m. on W. Vincennes St. A four-door red vehicle backed into a gold Grand Am. The reporting party believed the driver who left the scene was aware of the impact. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* Aug. 5 -- A resident reported the theft of a light blue Samsung Propel cell phone. They lost or dropped the phone on NW 9th St. around 8 p.m. but it was gone when they went back in an attempt to locate it. They later found out that a juvenile subject had the phone. LPD Chief Troy Jerrell is the investigating officer.

* Aug. 5 -- A resident reported a hit-and-run accident which occurred around Aug. 1-2. A vehicle had been parked on the street and was hit resulting in damage. LPD Det. Duane Collenbaugh is the investigating officer.
