Donald Edward Guthrie, 35, of Bloomington, formerly of Linton, passed away on Sunday morning, Aug. 16, 2009 in Bloomington.
He was born April 1, 1974, in Bloomington, the son of Edward L. and Paula (Warrick) Guthrie.
He was employed at U.S. Trade/Jarman Construction in Frankfort as a welder and iron worker. He was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church, a 1992 White River Valley graduate, attended Culver Military Academy summers during high school, and attended Vincennes University and Indiana State University.
Survivors include his father, Edward L. Guthrie of Linton, his mother and step-father, Paula and Jerome Stillions of Bloomington, a daughter, Edie Ryan at home, his fiancee, Heather Smith and her daughter, Kennedy Taelor, of Bloomington, a sister, Deanna Guthrie and nephew, Jaden, of Bloomington, a brother, Zachary Guthrie of Bloomington, and his paternal grandmother, Barbara (Elmer) Mason of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Margaret Warrick, and his paternal grandfather, Donald E. Guthrie.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, Archie Ellett officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, near Newberry.
Friends may call from 4-9 P.M. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the FOP of Linton, Clothe-a-Child Children's program, through the funeral home.
