Leslie A. "Les" Reed, 75, of Linton and formerly of Terre Haute, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 in Greene County General Hospital.
He was a boilermaker and a real estate agent.
He was born Feb. 9, 1934 in Sullivan to David Andrew Reed and Eloise (Lowe) Reed.
He is survived by four daughters: Deborah Hauck of Linton, Rhonda Mason of Linton, Leslie Ann Reed of Linton, and Denise Snyder of Franklin; a son, Robert "Bobby" Corenflos of Petersburg; two brothers, Clifford Reed and Francis "Kern" Reed; a sister, Cheryl Crawley; 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Katherine "Kitty" Reed and Joan E. Reed, and four brothers, Estol Reed, Charlie Reed, Philip Reed, and Carl "Bud" Reed.
He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, a member of Farmers Chapel Church, and the Boilermakers Local Union No. 374. He also enjoyed collecting steins and traveling.
Funeral service is Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at 1 p.m. in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with the Rev. Harold Throckmartin officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Visitation was Monday, Aug. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family suggests that if friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
