GREENFIELD -- Marianne H. Wright, 79, passed away on Sept. 28, 2009 at the Ellison House in Greenfield.
Born on March 11, 1930, she was the daughter of Oscar and Elsie Harmon.
She graduated from Linton High School and married her high school sweetheart, Clyde L. Wright, on April 24, 1949.
Marianne worked at the Riley Home as a James Whitcomb Riley historian for many years. She was an accomplished artist in multiple mediums and was a member of Trinity Park UMC for 56 years. Mrs. Wright loved sewing, quilting, walking, and was an avid gardener. Marianne was also a devoted mother and loving grandmother.
Surviving her and her husband, Clyde L. Wright of Greenfield; sons, Stan Wright and Clayton Wright, both of Greenfield; daughters, Jennifer Wright of Morgantown and Kimberly Haldrup of Carmel; sister, Dorothy Niebler of Florida; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Oct. 1, 2009, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the mortuary.
The Rev. Mike Manning will be officiating.
