Geraldine V. Hayes 73, of Bloomington, passed away 7:55 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 11, 1936 in Martinsville, she was the daughter of John and Vivian (Ames) Osborne.
She was a homemaker and retired from the accounting department at Indiana University. She was the first female carrier for the Bloomfield Post Office. She was a member of the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Bloomington and the Solsberry Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving relatives include: her husband, Donald Hayes; two sons, Mark (Debbie) Hayes of Bloomington and Scott (Edna) Hayes of Downingtown, Pennsylvania;Daughter-In-Law Tracy Hayes nine grandchildren, Melanie, Dana, John, Doug, Mickey, Tom, Adam, Honi and Kyle; seven great, grandchildren, Caleb, Peyton, Megan, Randy, Garrett, Madolyn, Lily, Ethan and Katearia; one brother, Durand Osborne of Bloomington; one sister, Wanda Stephens of Solsberry; one 1/2 brother, Tom Osborne of Creston, Iowa; and one 1/2 sister, Cindy Wolfe of Omaha, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by one son, Mickey G. Hayes, one brother, Joe Osborne, and her parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at St. Johns Apostle Catholic Church 4607 West State Road 46 in Bloomington, Indiana, with Father Michael Fritsch officiating. Interment will be in Solsberry cemetery with Durand Osborne and Mark Hayes officiating at the graveside.
