LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Tuesday included one juvenile/delinquent, two lost and found, two medical/illness, one animal complaint, one VIN check, one suspicious vehicle/person, two thefts-other, one welfare check/concern and two traffic stops.
* Oct. 13 -- A Linton resident, who was recently arrested and incarcerated for a short time, reported a theft that occurred while he was in jail. He said a woman, from Jasonville, had taken his food stamp card and purchased items with it. According to the report, he said the card had a balance of $200 prior to his incarceration but when he checked the balance after his release, it was $12. When an officer spoke with the woman, she said he gave her the card to get groceries and she left the card at his residence after she obtained groceries. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes is the investigating officer.
