James Virgil Brown, 96, of Jasonville, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at Glenburn Home in Linton.
He was born May 30, 1913 in Jasonville, Ind., the son of Clyde Brown and Florence Gann Brown
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre from March 14, 1942 until February 7, 1946. He worked at the Federal Prison in Terre Haute for 20 years as a Correctional Officer and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Jasonville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Dan and Sandie Brown of Bloomington; grandson, Brett Brown of St. Louis, MO
He was preceded by his wife, Mary Brown; his second wife, Mildred Brown; his parents, Clyde and Florence Brown; a sister, Chatta Moss; and a grandson, Bart Brown.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland, IN
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
