Ted L. Hasler, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away 10:58 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Bloomington Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1927, and was the son of Orville and Khiva (Ockerman) Hasler. He was married to Flo (Emery) Hasler for 52 years, who passed away on December 18, 2004.
He was a veteran and served in the Army Air Corps. He was co-owner of the Hasler Orchard for several years with his brother, Dean Hasler, and then as a heat mechanic at Indiana University and retired after several years. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church and Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 784 of Bloomfield for 60 years.
Survivors include: brother, Don Hasler, and many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Dean Hasler; and sisters, Betty Heaton and Doris Bucher.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Arlen Pope, Rev. Erin Raper and George Ockerman officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one-hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be an Odd Fellows service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post # 196 Bloomfield.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Walnut Grove Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
