LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included two medical/extraction, one protective order violation, one criminal mischief, one school/foot patrol, one accident with property damage, one funeral escort, one alarm, one animal complaint, one fingerprint for a gun permit, one community relations and nine traffic stops.
* Dec. 2 -- A female resident reported a protective order violation after a man called a member of her family asking to see a child. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer.
* Dec. 2 -- An incident of vandalism/criminal mischief at the park was reported by Taylor Golf who advised a wooden door gate had been kicked in sometime overnight. No other damage was found. LPD Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer.
* Dec. 2 -- No injuries were reported as a result of an accident involving two vehicles at 10:59 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 54 and NE 4th St. Delores Smith, 83, Linton, was southbound in a brown 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass wagon on NE 4th St. approaching the highway when Lisa Stewart, 30, Linton, was northbound in a silver 2002 Ford Taurus on NE 4th St. also approaching the highway. Stewart then crossed the highway as Smith was turning east onto the highway. According to the police report, Smith did not see the other vehicle coming and pulled into Stewart's path. Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles. Total damage was estimated between $10,000-25,000. The primary cause of the accident was Smith's failure to yield. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer.
