Ruth F. Kiel, 91, of Seymour, passed away at The Waters on Dec. 19, 2009 at 11:03 p.m.
Mrs. Kiel was born on May 16, 1918 in Linton, the daughter of J. Walter and Mary (Lynch) Foster. After their death, she was adopted by George and Lucille (Snoddy) Thompson.
She was a 1936 graduate of Shields High School. She married three husbands, Lloyd S. Aiken, Robert A. Kiel and Robert D. Mackey. They all preceded her in death.
Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she served on Ladies Aid No. 1; she actively supported the local, state and federal Democratic Party for many years. She was past member of the Columbus and Seymour Senior Citizens organizations, Seymour Elks Auxiliary, Schneck Medical Center Guild and a 35-year member of the Seymour Business & Professional Women's Club. She enjoyed a vast circle of friends and was an avid Bridge player for over 50 years.
Mrs. Kiel is survived by two daughters, Patricia Anne (Ray E.) Slusher of Scottsville, Ky., Peggy Ila Records of Niceville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons; a sister, Ethel Marling Baker of Franklin.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at Burkholder Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery.
