He was born Sept. 16, 1937 in Sullivan to Harold A. and Kathryn F. (Maple) Crichfield.
He Carolyn R. (Deakins) Crichfield on Aug. 14, 1970.
Survivors include his spouse, Carolyn R. Crichfield of Jasonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Daryla and Gary Miller of Lewis and Suzanne and Kent Kalar of Shelbyville; grandchildren Delaney Kalar, Sarah Kalar, Sierra Miller, Eric Miller and Samantha Miller; brother and sister-in-law William and Sandy Crichfield of Terre Haute, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Crichfield.
Jim was a Domestic Driver for Amerigas where he retired in Sept. 1, 2005. He was a member of the Jasonville Assembly of God Church; and American Legion Post 172.
He also served in the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday all at the Cox Funeral Home in Jasonville.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24 at Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.
Burial will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
Military graveside rites will be conducted.
