The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included one protective order violation, one accident with property damage, three medical/illness, one fingerprint for a gun permit, two domestic disputes, one open garage door and six traffic stops.

* Dec. 30 -- Roy James Ellis, 25, Linton, was arrested after his vehicle was reportedly stopped for speeding around 10:52 p.m. According to the police report, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana and upon a search, found a substance believed to be marijuana. Ellis was transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $2,000. He posted bond and was released on Dec. 31. LPD Officer Thomas Jerrell was the investigating officer.

* Dec. 30 -- Police investigated an invasion of privacy incident reported by a Linton woman who had received multiple text messages from a suspect while a protective order was in place. The police report notes the text messages were obscene. LPD Officer Nick Yingling was the investigating officer assisted by Cpl. Paul Clark.

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Thursday included one bar fight, one animal cruelty, two lost and founds, two suicide/attempts, two medical/illnesses, one alarm, six theft-others, one welfare check/concern and one fingerprint/gun permit. The department also had one follow-up investigation, one transport/documentation, one abandoned vehicle and one traffic stop.

* Dec. 31 -- Police investigated a theft incident reported by a rural Linton man who noticed several items taken from his vehicle -- which was parked at his route two residence. According to the report, the man noticed the car console was open and that a fire extinguisher was activated inside the vehicle. Items reportedly taken included a Savage HR-17 rifle stainless bull barrel, one Carhartt jacket, one pair of Nikon binoculars and one 25 caliber Derringer. The man was alerted to the incident after hearing the fire extinguisher deploy at 5 a.m. LPD Reserve Officer Randy Raney was the investigating officer assisted by Det. Josh Goodman.

* Dec. 31 -- Police investigated a theft incident reported by a Linton man who noticed his driver's car door was ajar and that a Delphi satellite radio was missing from the vehicle. The incident occurred on North Main Street during the overnight hours. LPD Reserve Officer Randy Raney was the investigating officer assisted by Det. Josh Goodman.

* Dec. 31 -- Police investigated a theft incident reported by a Bloomfield man who noticed a flash light was taken from his vehicle while it was parked at a rural Linton residence. LPD Reserve Officer Randy Raney was the investigating officer assisted by Det. Josh Goodman.

* Dec. 31 -- Police investigated a theft incident reported by a rural Linton woman who noticed her Vera Bradley purse was missing from her car -- which was parked on NE 'H' Street. The purse contained social security cards, birth certificates, a debit card and $100. The purse was yellow, black and white with a matching wallet. * Dec. 31 -- Police investigated a theft incident reported by a rural Linton man who noticed a Garmin GPS was missing from the windshield of his vehicle. The vehicle was parked at his rural route 2 residence. LPD Reserve Officer Randy Raney was the investigating officer.
