Betty Jean (Anderson) Barnes, 64, of Bloomington, passed away at her residence on Jan. 5, 2010.
Betty was born on July 19, 1945 in Yipsilanti, Mich., to Shirley Otis Anderson and Anna Jonas.
Betty graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1963, worked for RCA for 25 years, graduated from Ivy Tech Nursing School in 1996 and retired as a Nurse.
Survivors include her husband Gary Dean Barnes of Bloomington, one son Michael (Terri Krentler) Barnes of Ellettsville, one grandson, Ryan Barnes of Ellettsville, one sister, Sharon (Melvin) Payne of Linton, one brother-in-law, Miles (Florence) Barnes of Nashville, two brothers, Gerald O. (Alice) Anderson of Alamogordo, N.M. and Donald R. (Sharren) Anderson of Linton, a special friend, Charlene Taylor of Bloomington, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel in Bloomington; with funeral services at 3 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Adams will officiate.
Interment will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens at a later date. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Bloomington Hospital.
