Waldon owned & operated Wolford Flower Gardens in Linton until his retirement. In addition, he previously owned the Linton Bowling Alley in downtown Linton and The Jukebox Grill. He remained an avid bowler for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, B.P.O. Elks #866, American Legion Post #22, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge #560, and the Greene County Shrine Club, all of Linton.
He is survived by two sons, M. Waldon (Nid) Jones of Kuwait and Dr. Jed (Nancy) Jones of Fairfield, IL, a daughter, Jacinda (Steve) Ball of Greencastle, IN, seven grandchildren, M. Waldon Jones III, Alan (Carrie)Ball, Emily, Erin, Cristina, Mac, & Emma Jones, three great-grandchildren, Brady Kent Jones, and Meredith Makenzie & Taylor Addison Ball, and a special friend, Imogene Fehrman of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rosemary (Nichols) Jones on May 25, 2001.
Funeral Service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2010, Rev. David Tyra. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post #22.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. with Masonic service at 7:00 P.M., and on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
