GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S
* Jan. 20 -- Elizabeth Williams, 27, Farmersburg, was arrested on a warrant and was being held in lieu of $5,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Special Deputy Lee Condol was the arresting officer.
* Jan. 20 -- Russell Bedwell, 55, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery with bodily injury and was being held in lieu of $1,000. Linton Police Officer Thomas Jerrels was the arresting officer.
LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included one assist to the utility department after hours, one school/foot patrol, one incident of animal cruelty, two alarms, one animal complaint, one harassment complaint, one child abuse/neglect, one fingerprint for a gun permit, one community relations and five traffic stops.
* Jan. 21 -- Russell M. Bedwell, 55, Linton, was arrested after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance around 12:11 a.m. at a residence on SE 6th St. Upon investigating, officers determined a battery had occurred and transported Bedwell to the Greene County Jail. Bedwell was booked in on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury. Bedwell allegedly got into an argument with a female victim, grabbed her phone and broke it then grabbed her by the hair and forced her to the ground. His bond was set at $1,000. LPD Officer Thomas Jerrels was the investigating officer. LPD Officer Nick Yingling, Cpl. Paul Clark and Reserve Officer J.R. Blazier also responded to assist on the scene.
