He was born July 6, 1920, the son of Vactor and Mary Hasler, near Mineral, Ind.
Sherl served with the 862nd EAB Battalion during WWII, 1942-45, and retired from Crane Naval Weapons Support Center in 1978. There he worked as an operational supervisor for the railroad.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Nell (Fortner) Hasler; sister, Enid Bohley Axe, and two daughters, Denise Robertson, Benecia, California, and Joyce Long, Greenwood, Indiana; three grandchildren, Liam Robertson, Chris and Valerie Long. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 14, 11am -- 2pm, with the funeral at 2pm in Jenkins Funeral Home, Bloomfield.
