Ronald "Ron" M. Barr, 72, of Linton, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 15, 2010, at Bloomington Hospital.
He was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Indianapolis, the son of Robert J. and Doris I. (Waltz) Barr.
He was sales manager for Carson-Firkins in Linton for 15 years, owned and operated Prime Auto in Linton for three years, and was a member of Linton Elks Lodge 866.
Survivors include his father, Robert J. Barr of Linton, his wife, Bell S. (Cox) Barr of Linton, to whom he was married Nov. 16, 1991, a step-son, Todd D. (Heidi) Gibbs of Linton, a step-daughter, Tambi L. (James)Denny of Lyons, daughters, Teresa (Harry) Green, Rhonda (Joseph) Cawthon, Darla (Duane) Fuller, and Te Amo (Jeff) Taylor, all of the Indianapolis area, sons, Berthold (Shannon) Barr, David (Angel) Barr, and Derek (Heather) Barr, all of the Indianapolis area, a brother, Bruce (Kathy) Barr of Whitestown, sisters-in-law, Sharren (Don) Anderson, Teresa (Dan) Carpenter, Judy (Joe, his best friend) Sullivan, and Tina (Bill) Collins, all of Linton, brothers-in-law, Glen (Cheri) Cox, Larry (Anna) Cox, and Rodney (LuAnne) Cox, all of Florida, 32 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Barr, step-mother, Margrete M. Barr, sister, Sandra K. (Newsom) Barr, and a brother-in-law, Owen R. Cox.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
There will be an Elks memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. There will be no funeral service.
