Alvin J. "Pat" Patton, 86, of Linton, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born in Dugger on May 24, 1923, he was the son of Alfred Patton and Edna Wiseman Patton.
He was an WWII Army veteran, a member of the Dugger American Legion Post 224, and retired from the Minnehaha Coal Mine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ruby Underwood Patton; two brothers, Fred Patton, and Herschel Patton; four sisters, Grace Camden, Audra Reed, Florence Maxey, and Hazel Strickland.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Sallee Patton; two step sons, Keith Burris (Sandy) of Linton and Jeremy Bedwell (Becky) of Dugger; five step grandchildren, Pam Davidson, Denise York, Chuck Flynn, Berry Flynn, Natalie Jarvis, and twelve great grandchildren.
Service will be at 7 p.m. on Friday Feb. 19, 2010 at Newkirk's Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Orman officiating. Military rites by the Dugger American Legion.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service Friday. Cremation will follow.
