Janice Sue (Clark) Gelhaus, 67, of Coldwater, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born June 18, 1942 in Linton to the late Robert L. Clark and Mary E. (Foster) Clark.
She was married to Ken Gelhaus for 22 years and he survives in Coldwater.
She is the mother of Jackie and Sam Vehslage of Lyons, Michael Raper of Lyons and Kyle Thomas of Atlanta, Ga.; stepmother of Jeffrey and Shelley Gelhaus of Louisville, Ky. and Kelly and Luke Stretch of Pemberton, N.J.; also surviving are a mother-in-law of Mary Ann Gelhaus of Coldwater, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters: Mary E. Monroe of Bloomfield and Jennifer and Scott Leibacher of Terre Haute; brothers: Robert L. Clark of Bloomfield, Roger and Darcy Clark of Bedford and Richard and Gail Clark of Aurora, Colo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ronald Clark; a grandson Adam Hasler and her father-in-law Edward Gelhaus.
She was active at Holy Trinity Church, Briarwood Village, Coldwater High School cafeteria and friendship quilters. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1972 with a degree in chemistry and the University of Cincinnati with a masters in Environmental Engineering in 1979. She was employed by Crane Naval Depot in Crane, and retired from the Corps of Engineers in Atlanta, Ga.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Richard Walling officaitng.
Visitation will be at Hogenkamp Funeral Home - Coldwater on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Antioch Cemetery in Bloomfield.
