Robert Homer Brown, 67, of Linton, passed away at 2:12 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital.

He was born June 11, 1942, in Bloomfield, the son of Noel "Buster" and Iona May (Mitchell) Brown.

He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1960 and served for four years in the United States Air Force. He was a Programs Manager-Weapons Engineer at Crane NWSC from 1973 to 2007, serving over 37 years.

Survivors include his wife, Valerie (Robertson) Brown, to whom he was married Sept. 11, 1981, four sons: Patrick Adam Brown of Berger, Missouri; Chad Allen Brown of Linton; Mark Alan (Rosanna) Brown of Harker Heights, Texas; Robert Grant (Barbara) Brown of Midvale, Utah; a daughter, Jamie Jo Brown of Linton; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Robert James Brown, and a sister, Betty Dyer.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, near Newberry, with James Stone officiating.

The Linton American Legion and VFW will conduct military services at the cemetery.

There will be no funeral service. Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton is in charge of arrangements.
