Leland E. (Lee) Hutchens, 60, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at his residence.
Born May 31, 1949 in Bloomington, he was the son of Medus Eugene and Luvina (Williams) Hutchens.
He was an electrical engineer retiring from NSWC Crane and worked for TSC. He was a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge and the Worthington Lyons Club. He served his country in Vietnam in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Sandy Hutchens whom he married June 18, 1983; his mother, Luvina Hutchens; children, Leland Hutchens Jr.(Sharri) of Bloomfield, Travis Hutchens of Bloomfield, Shannon Carter(Michelle) of Springville, and Tracy Roberts(Jason) of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Heather Davis, Christy Davis, Ashley Davis, Garrett Carter, Makenzie Roberts, Carter Roberts, Brittney Hutchens, Ethan Hutchens and Dayson Roberts; one sister, Leanna Freeman of Spencer; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Medus Hutchens.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Jeff Rockey officiating. Interment will be in Calvertville cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and from noon until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Bloomfield Masonic Lodge services will be 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Military honors by Bloomfield American Legion Post 196.
