Chester Booker, 79, of Dugger went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1930, the son of Floyd Booker and Belle Bedwell Booker.

He was a member of the Bethel Community Church.

Working along with his brother the late John Booker, Chet owned and operated Booker's Hi-way Market in Dugger from 1954 to 1986. Chester along with his wife and daughter founded and operated Storybook Village Children's Park from 1976 to 2000.

Attending the auctions at Dinky's on Friday evenings was Chet's favorite pasttime.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Madge Swan Booker, one daughter and son- in-law Dianna and John LeDune of Dugger, tow grandsons, Johnny and Jen LeDune, and Dusty and Merry LeDune, three great grandchildren, Danielle, Hunter, and Westin LeDune, a sister in-law Judy Booker of Dugger, nieces, Angie Heuby, Jane Shonk, and Wilma Pigg, nephews, Adam Booker and Jack Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, also four brothers, and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Rev John Preston, and Pastor Shawn Farris officiating. Interment in the Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and before services Tuesday.
