Dannie W. Jenkins, 72, of Jasonville, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Methodist Hospital Yellow Rose Unit in Indianapolis.
He was born June 13, 1937 in Clay County, to Dannie "Boone" Jenkins and Arlie M. (Reed) Jenkins.
He married Beverly Jenkins on May 13, 1995. She survives.
He worked in service and installation for Rash Hardware. Attended Jasonville Assembly of God where he was a youth leader for the Royal Rangers, served as a deacon and was the church bus driver. He served in the 101st Airborne in the United States Army.
Other survivors include: daughters abd sons-in-law: Laura & Kuldip Wadhwan of Jasonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Melinda Jenkins of Jasonville, Craig Jenkins of Jasonville, Brian and Karen Pilant of Jasonville; sisters and brothers-in-law:,Viola Coleman of Fortville, Willadean Cliver of Linton and Marsha and Carey Snellenberger of Jasonville; father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Vee Gabbard of Jasonville; grandchildren: Christopher & Erica, Jonathan & Victoria, Dillon, Gavin & Taylor, Bryce, Kelsey, Bryant, Larissa, Kady & Jaden; great-grandchildren, Hailey & Aubry; and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Esther "Cricket" Keller and Greta Jenkins; brother, Junior Jenkins; and grandson: Josh Thomas.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home. 218 South Meridian St, Jasonville
Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Sherman Reed officiating. Burial will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville.
