LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one incident of fraud, one follow-up investigation, three requests for information only, two accidents with property damage, one funeral escort, one lost and found, one medical/illness, one animal complaint, one welfare check/concern and five traffic stops.
* March 22 -- Police are investigating incidents of theft involving an employee of a store who allegedly had walked out of the store on two occasions with merchandise he hadn't paid for. Information for possible criminal charges has been forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.
* March 23 -- A resident reported an incident of theft/criminal mischief after he noticed a couple of items were missing from his property. Nobody lived there but the owner had been in the process of scrapping items there. The owner said he was advised that a Linton man, who had taken the items, took them to a salvage yard in Sullivan where a local officer told the man to return the items and he did. LPD Officer Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.
