Enid C. Axe

Enid C. Axe, 91, of Indianapolis and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Westside Retirement Village in Indianapolis.

Born Aug. 1, 1918 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Vactor and Mary (McGinnis) Hasler.

She was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell retiring in 1961 after 23 years of service. She was also a homemaker and a charter member of the Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau sorority and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was also a 1936 graduate of Bloomfield High School.

Surviving relatives include: two sons, Carroll B. Bohley of Indianapolis and Roger Axe of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Jamie Bohley of Bloomfield, Tara Bohley of North Carolina and Joshua Q. Axe of Bloomfield; and one great, granddaughter, Meagan Evans of Bloomfield.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Estel Bohley in 1952, her second husband, Daniel M. Axe in 2007, one brother, Sherl Hasler in 2010, an aunt, Grace Vest and her parents.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial service at Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield will be conducted at a later date.

Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Faith Christian Church.
