David W. Bickel, 47, of Jasonville, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2010 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born Oct. 25, 1962 in Linton,, the son of Donald W. Bickel and Lucy E. (Edelman) Bickel.
David was a union carpenter out of Vincennes local and also worked for Jarvis Coal. He was a member of the Sons of Hymera American Legion and Vincennes Carpenters Union Local #546.
Survivors include: daughters, Connie Sue Bickel and Kenny Russell of Jasonville and Briley Nicole Bickel of Jasonville; grandchildren, Connor David Bickel and Kollin Dale Russell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Jim Bradbury of Hymera, Diane Mitchell of Jasonville, Nancy and Dennis Jones of Jasonville, Debbie and Steve Strahla of Jasonville, Cheryl and Jeff Reed of Indianapolis; a brother, Donnie Bickel of Jasonville; 15 nieces and nephews; five great nieces; numerous cousins; several aunts and uncles; and a special brother, Bruce Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; nephew, Billy Todd Turley; and brother-in-law, Kerry Mitchell.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside service is at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Friendly Grove Cemetery in Lewis, with Pastor Sam Bush.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian St, Jasonville.
