LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included two reports of fraud, one illegal burn, one title check, two follow-up investigations, one request for information only, one protective order violation, one public intoxication, one accident with property damage, four medical/illness, one alarm, one animal complaint, one child abuse or neglect, two thefts-other, one bicycle recovered, two welfare checks/concerns, one arrest - wanted on warrant, one domestic dispute and four traffic stops.
* April 5 -- A resident reported he had been contacted by a collection agency stating he had an outstanding bill with a gas company in another town where he has never lived or even visited. The victim believed someone had set up an account under his name without his permission. LPD Officer Thomas Jerrels was the investigation officer. The case has been forwarded to LPD Det. Duane Collenbaugh for further investigation.
* April 5 -- A resident reported they were driving west on State Road 54, passing the golf course around 12:15 p.m. when a golf ball struck the windshield of their Jeep Cherokee and shattered the windshield. LPD Reserve Officer Kyle Butler was the investigating officer.
