Anne Louise Handley, 90, of Jasonville died at 10:58 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
She was born on her grandparent's farm on Nov. 8, 1919 in Sullivan County which is now part of Shakamak State Park, the daughter of Herman Zeps and Martha (Ansorge) Zeps
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Forest Handley on Dec. 31, 1999.
Anne graduated from Jasonville High School in 1937. She furthered her education by graduating from Phoenix College in Phoenix, AZ in 1965 with her son, David, and daughter, Sue. She returned to Indiana from Phoenix in 1965 and worked in Kokomo at the YWCA for a number of years before returning to Jasonville. She worked at the Jasonville Gas Department, Peoples Trust and then retired after serving over nine years as Jasonville City Clerk-Treasurer. She was a member of Beta Delphians, Shakamak Women's Civic Club, Wednesday Research Club, Treasurer of the Jasonville Library Board, a past President of Tri Kappa, a former Girl Scout leader and Den Mother. She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton.
Survivors include: a daughters, Sue Girard of Ricky Hill, CT; a son, David Handley of Jasonville; grandchildren: Todd Handley of Terre Haute, Terry and Cathy Handley of Jasonville, Tim Handley of Jasonville; great-grandchildren, Kristy, Becky, Randy, Jesse and Jonathan; nine great-great grandchildren living in Indiana -- Kristlyn, Kayden, Dacian, Saber, Broden, Devin, Kelsey, Braxton and Jody; and three great-great grandchildren living in California -- Vanessa, Matthew and Joseph; and one in Virginia -- Marisa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forest Handley on Dec. 31, 1999; a son, Keith in May 2007; daughter-in-law, Wanda in April 2000; brothers, Jack Zeps and Herm Zeps; and sisters, Francie Zeps abd Violet Zeps.
Visitation will be from 8:30 am.- 10 a.m. Wednesday at Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian St, Jasonville.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Joe David Faust officiating.
Interment will be at Case Cemetery in Hymera.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Greene County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
