LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Monday included one request for information only, one assist to the utility department after hours, one drug investigation, one accident with property damage, one funeral escort, one lost and found, three medical/illness, one animal complaint, one suspicious vehicle/person, one harassment complaint and one shoplifting incident.
* April 19 -- No injuries were reported as a result of a crash involving two vehicles at 7:39 on NE 1st Street. Scott E. Gerkin, 22, Linton, was backing north out of a parking spot when he struck another vehicle owned by Jack V. Grady, Jr. of Linton. Grady's vehicle was parked facing north and was struck in the rear by the rear of Gerkin's vehicle. Damage was estimated between $1,000-$2,500. Unsafe backing was cited as the cause of the accident. LPD Officer Tom Jerrels was the investigating officer.
