LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Friday through Sunday included two incidents of breaking and entering, one title check, one follow-up investigation, one request for lifting assistance, seven assists to the utility department after hours, two accidents with personal injury, two accidents with property damage, one funeral escort, two suicides or attempted suicides, one off-road vehicle complaint, four medical/illness, one alarm, three animal complaints, one VIN check, one suspicious vehicle/person, one assist to another agency, two reckless drivers, one theft-other, one welfare check/concern, one motor vehicle theft, one 911 prank or false call, one domestic dispute, one domestic dispute-neighbor, one open door-garage, three ordinance violations, one battery and 31 traffic stops.
* April 25 -- Tyler Turley, 21, Jasonville, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after his vehicle was pulled over on State Road 59 at Baseline Rd. at 1:58 a.m. The police report states Turley was going 52 mph in a 40 mph zone. When the officer spoke with Turley, he said he noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage and noticed Turley's eyes were glazed and bloodshot and his speech was slurred. Turley reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests and was transported to the police department where he failed them again. Turley agreed to a blood draw at Greene County General Hospital. Turley was then arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $4,000. He bonded out later in the day and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30. LPD Reserve Officer Brock Garrison was the investigating officer. Three other officers assisted on the scene.
