Wayne Lee Malone, 62, of Linton, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at his residence in Linton.
He was born April 13, 1945, in Marion, Ill., the son of Hubert N. and Ethel Mae (Hill) Malone.
He was a retired auto body worker and of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Veleta (Dailey) Baxley Malone, to whom he was married Feb. 20, 1980; two daughters, Angel Mae Malone Turcios and her husband, Victor Jose Turcios, of Adkins, Texas, and Cassandra Doer and her husband, John, of Eldorado, Ill.; a son, Edward Baxley and his wife, Patti, of Bloomington; seven sisters, Opal Osborne of Alvarado, Texas, Barbara Lawrance of Goreville, Ill., Sharon Horn of Grand Chain, Ill., Carla Nichols of Vienna, Ill., and Shirley Malone of Carrier Mills, Ill., and Dianne and Renee of Montana; 11 grandchildren, Jesse Jose Turcios, Joseph Vidal Turcios, Joshua Andres Turcios, Glen, Patricia, Carla, Joey, Jasmine, David, Tashia, and Heather; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hubert Malone, Jr.
Funeral service was conducted March 7, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, with the Rev. Roth officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
