She was born in Switz City on Feb. 2, 1936, the daughter of Clarence Bovenschen and Martha Hart Bovenschen.
Iva graduated from Switz City Central High School in 1954, and married Charles E. Spurlin March 31, 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles in 2002; and one brother, John Bovenschen.
Survivors include one son, Bill Spurlin (Wendy) of Dugger; two daughters, Brenda D. Everett (Marion) of Switz City, Beth Ann Spurlin Myers of Dugger; two sisters, Lola Dayhuff of Worthington, Martha Bough of Lyons; a sister in-law Lou Dean Spurlin of Simpson, Ill.; six grandchildren, Mary Everett, Bryan Myers, Heather Spurlin, Maria Jeffers (William II), Steven Spurlin, Rosa Emery; three great-grandchildren, Mya Lynn Myers, Charollette Emery, and Trevor Sexton.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Rev. Patti Meyer officiating. Interment in the Woodward Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday.
