He was born Dec. 28, 1932 in Sullivan County to Ray Ladson and Dochia (Pitcher) Ladson.
He is survived by his wife, Lurena "Rena" Kay (Neal) Ladson of Jasonville, whom he married on Nov. 17, 1956; daughter and son-in-law Connie and Bill Baize, Jr. of Linton; sons and daughters-in-law Doug and Annette Ladson of Linton and Keith and Shelley Ladson of North Carolina; grandchildren Sara and Broc Sparks, Eric and Tiera Baize, Katie Ladson, Brooke Baize, Dakota Ladson; great-grandchild Coen Michael Sparks; brother and sister-in-law Albert Ray and Doris Ladson of Jasonville; a niece and two nephews, and best friend Bill Enstrom of Jasonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Ladson, and halfsister, Doris Garrett.
Jim retired from NSWC Crane on April 1, 1993 after 33 years of service, served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Jasonville American Legion Post 172, VFW Post 6225, F&AM Lodge 530, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home with a Masonic memorial service at 7 p.m., and 9 a.m. on Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Funeral service will at at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian St, Jasonville, with Pastor Mark Messmer along with speaker Bruce Borders.
Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside rites.
