He was born in Howesville, Ind.,on January 25, 1932, the son of Waldren "Jake" Killian and Violet Ruth Stepp Killian.
Carl retired from the Greene Co. Highway Dept., and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Newberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Leon, Frank and Bob Killian, one sister, Nellie Trump, six nephews and one niece.
Survivors include: His wife of 53 years, Barbara Lockhart Killian; one daughter, Kimberly Schlomer (Gary) of Linton; three grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson (Travis), Daniel Scott and Sarah Schlomer; two step-grandchildren, Kelsey and Drake Schlomer; three great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jalen Johnson and Kale (Schlomer) Sternhagen; several nephews and nieces; also special friends, Ron and Patty Wiggington, John and Delores Padgett and families.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 25, with Pastor Tracey Hamilton officiating.
Friends may call at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday. A Masonic service will be conducted during visitation.
Interment will be in the Stafford Cemetery.
