The Linton Police Department's activity log for Thursday included one incident of forgery and/or counterfeiting, one fraud, two requests for information, six assists to the utility department after hours, one incident of vandalism, one school/foot patrol, one animal cruelty, one public intoxication, two accidents with property damage, one lost and found, two medical/illness, one complaint of harassment, one possibly intoxicated driver, one bicycle theft and one ordinance violation.
* May 27 -- At approximately 2 p.m., a resident on E. Vincennes St. reported a bicycle was stolen from their property sometime within the previous 24 hours. It was described as a blue and chrome 20-inch Mongoose with tribal type decals, a BMX gooseneck and front and rear pegs with non-matching wheels and tires. A street tire with 48 spokes was on the front and the back had 38 spokes and a knobby tire. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark is the investigating officer.
* May 27 -- A resident reported an unauthorized check was written on an account and an account was opened in their name without their approval at a jewelry chain store. An investigation is ongoing. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark was the investigating officer. The case has been forwarded to Lt. Det. Duane Collenbaugh for follow-up.
