William C. (Bill) Crays, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at his residence.
Born March 10, 1928 in Bloomfield, he was the son of William Henry Sr. and Hazel J. (Blackmore) Crays.
He was a meat cutter for the Bloomfield Locker Plant and a farmer.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Hazel (Corwin) Crays whom he married November 1, 1947; one daughter, Charlis Crays of Scotland; one son, Mike Crays (Marilyn) of Bloomfield; sisters, Patty Wiles (Kenny) of Indianapolis and Peggy Crays of Plainfield; a half brother, William Henry Crays Jr. of Indianapolis; half sisters, Kathy Julian and Karen Fields both of Bloomfield; four boys he and Hazel raised as their own, James Correll of Mishawaka, Rick Correll of Odon, Mark Correll of Spokane, Wash. and Roger Correll of Bloomington; and several grandchildren and great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Crays, sisters, Willadeen Milburn and Ida Wright, a great, grandson, Joshua Merritt and his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Scotland Historical Society, Glenburn Home Alzheimer's unit for Hazel Crays, Riley Hospital for Children or the Ronald McDonald House in memory of Joshua Merritt.
