Born March 25, 1922 at Patricksburg, he was the son of Franklin B. Williams and Alta Pearl (Hacker) Williams.
Wayne retired from the military as a Master Sergeant after 21 years. He retired from ordinance at Crane in 1985. He was a member of the Linton American Legion Post #22. He served in WW II and the Korean War, in the Army & Army Air Force 57th Squadron.
Her is survived by daughters an sons-in-law, Gerrie and Ron Watson of Linton, Karen Williams of Jasonville, Lori and Brad Markle of Linton; sons & daughters-in-law, Norman and Darlene Williams of Martinsville, John Williams of Dugger; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Charles Godsey of Bloomington, Mary Doyle of Patricksburg, Dorothy and Art Lee of Worthington; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Reba (Cross) Williams; daughter, Leah Slater; sons, Bob Williams and David Williams; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, William Williams; and sister,Vera Lentz.
Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street in Jasonville.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Bush officiating.
Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside rites.
