Philip A. Pittman, 69, Cloverdale, passed away on June 22, 2010 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 13, 1941 in Jasonville, and was the son of the late Martian Pittman and Naomi (Stone) Pittman Arthur.
He married Carolyn S. Denton on Sept. 5, 1959.
He was a loving husband of 50 years, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He retired from General Motors/Chevrolet Truck and Bus after 43 years where he was an electrician. He was a member of the Indianapolis Lodge 669, F.&A.M., Indianapolis Valley of The Scottish Rite, Murat Temple A.A.O.M.S. and the Murat Gatling Gun Club.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with the Rev. Ross Kirkman officiating.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Peavey Cemetery at Howesville.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pittman, Cloverdale, two daughters, Sheila Wright and friend David McCarter, Brazil and Sheryl Reed, Cloverdale, one son/grandson, Curtis Deem, Cloverdale, four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
