He was born April 24, 1946 in Rush County to James F. and Lelah M. (Stevens) Burt.
Tom retired from Crane in 1996 after 30 years service, also had his own truck and hauled coal, where he was known as "Buzzsaw". He was a veteran of the Army and National Guard. He was a supporter of P.O.W./M.I.A. Member of the Coal City E. U. B. Church. Tom enjoyed NASCAR and outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Pope) Burt, Bloomington; three daughters, Tammy Martin, Cary, N. C.; Penny (Bobby) Bone, Atlanta; Hope Ellington, Bloomington; five grandchildren, Robbie, Tyler, Jessica, Ashley and Sarah; sister, Pat Bonham, Sullivan; nephew, Eric and niece, Andrea.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday Worthington Cemetery.
