Harry S. Harper, 83, of Springville, died 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at Home.
Born July 31, 1926 in Greene County he was the son of Randolph and Josephine (Holman) Harper.
He retired from Indiana University and went on to work at Eastern Greene Schools for 18 years. He was a member of the Owensburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis (Bailey) Harper; two sons, Steve Harper and Roger Harper, both of Springville; three daughters, Sherlyn Harper of Bloomfield, Marsha Laughlin of Bloomington and Simone Spinks of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Ronnie Harper of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Jenkins Funeral Home in Blomfield with Paul Guthery and Don Tirey officiating. Burial will be at Flynn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one-hour prior to the service Friday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
